Installation Instructions

To begin using SVOffice 2009, download the following file and install using SETUP.EXE. SVOffice 2009 will run on any PC with Windows 2000 or later, and at least 200 MB of free hard disk space is recommended. Windows 7 and 64-bit environments are fully supported. The software defaults to STUDENT mode when first installed if no dongle is present.

Note to Windows 2000 users: you will need to download and install version 2.0 of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
Windows XP and later do not require this download.

The following files may be required, depending on your particular operating environment.

Newer versions of the HASP drivers may be available from the Sentinel website. Newer versions of FlexPDE6 may be available from the PDE Solutions website. The versions posted above have been tested and are known to work with SVOffice 2009.

Important Note to Existing Users

Our download package has recently been upgraded to install the latest HASP drivers by default. If you use both SoilVision and SVOffice 2009 together, you may need to install the older HASP drivers in addition to the new drivers. Please refer to our support page for more information on this issue. (If your drivers are already working for all your products, you can skip this step in the installer.)

Windows Vista / 7 Users: If you receive an "Installation error code 2869 is encountered" message during installation, you may need to disable the User Account Control setting in Windows to fix the issue. Be sure to run SETUP.EXE instead of the .MSI file, you do not need to run both.

Upgrade Instructions

To upgrade SVOffice 2009, do the following:

  • Back up your existing Model_Files directory.
  • Download and install the latest SVOffice 2009 Setup, above. You do not need to uninstall your current version, simply install the new one.
  • Check that your Model_Files directory is correct from the Options > Global Settings > Root Folder dialog.
  • Run Options > Clean Up. This opens and saves every XML file in your directory, ensuring they are all the most current format.
  • Run Projects > Download Examples to obtain the latest example models.
