SVFlux - 2D Gallery - Pumping Problems

Tunnel Dewatering
SVFlux may be used to estimate the effectiveness of dewatering schemes.  This particular example involves the dewatering of a tunnel during construction.  A pumping scheme is created in the model and the resulting effectiveness of the proposed spacing between pumping stations can be determined.  Various scenarios involving varying pumping rates can be explored.  SVFlux is particularly well suited for this problem in that flow through the unsaturated zone can be accounted for.
