![]() Databases SoilVision Systems Ltd. Is currently the world leader in providing high quality saturated and unsaturated soils data. We have seen dramatic increase in the amount of soil data we have been able to provide to our customers. This is possible because of the generous contributions of data from government organizations and consultants alike. We are continually looking to improve the data we are able to offer. If you would like to contribute to our dataset, or if you or if you can direct us to additional data sources, please proceed to the submit section. We are willing to provide discounts on the SoilVision software to individuals in exchange for high-quality experimental soil information. We are currently interested in data for the following laboratory tests: Compression (consolidation) For more information on the SoilVision dataset, you may view or download our SoilVision Data presentation: Click Here
SoilVision is the only software database system which provides you with an existing dataset of detailed information on over 6000 soils. Whether youre looking for an estimate of soil dry density, the compression index, the compaction characteristics or the soil-water characteristic curve, SoilVision allows for complex querying of the included dataset. Since much of the data included in SoilVision is from research publications, the reference to the original journal paper the data was published in is included. This allows for selection of soil data by author, journal, year published, etc. Need an estimate of soil properties? Search our database of over 6000 soil-water characteristic curves, 2500 saturated permeabilities, 600 permeability curves, 100 compression curves, 50 shrinkage curves, 30 compaction curves, 25 unsaturated shear box tests, etc. for approximate parameters. All soils contained in the database have been automatically classified by the USDA and USCS (ASTM) systems to ensure proper grouping. Develop your own database! SoilVision provides full database capabilities for the importing of your companys dataset. This allows development of your own companys dataset to optimize the value of your data. New data in the SoilVision database includes the following datasets:
The SoilVision dataset represents the most comprehensive compilation of unsaturated soils information currently available. Hundreds of man-hours went into searching and reviewing and compiling our existing database of over 6000 soils. The specific datasets included in our dataset are as follows: Please message us here if you would like to contribute to our growing database!
A set of soil samples from 23 different states has been submitted and added as new data to the SoilVision dataset. The research was conducted as part of the NCHRP research program. Soils were collected from 29 different sites in the following 23 states:
The collected soil was divided into 265 soil samples where some of the soil samples consist of similar soil type.
SWCCs were determined for 24 out of the 29 sites (82.8%) and for 78 out of the 265 soil samples (29.4%).
Ksat was determined for 28 out of 29 sites (96.6%) and for 57 out of 265 soil samples (21.5%).
The reference of the Ph D work is as follows:
Unsure of your soils compression index? Interested in the shrinkage
limit of your soil? Search our database of correlations gathered
from industry verified research. Over 50 graphs and tables are provided,
complete with references, for your convenience.
We are interested in your soil information and willing to provide discounts on the Soil Vision software in exchange for your data. Soils information may be submitted to support at soilvision.com in one of the following formats. Soil Vision Format: This is the preferred format. Soils information may be imported to the demo or full version. The soil database .mdb file may then be e-mailed to SoilVision Systems Ltd. The SoilVision demo database may be downloaded here. Table Format: This format must be processed and converted to the SoilVision format by SoilVision Systems Ltd. There is therefore a delay in the incorporation of this data into the Soil Vision database. Files under 2 MB can simply be emailed, larger than 2 MB will require special instructions.
